I am originally from the San Francisco Bay Area of California and I lived in Germany for many years. I moved to Alaska in 2003.
I earned a BFA in Fine Art and an MA in Art Therapy. I have worked with international teams including Alaska Native corporations as a visual designer supporting software development and marketing communication efforts in Alaska, California, Europe, and Southeast Asia. I also have experience in website usability, cognitive task analysis, and overall user experience.
I like to cross-country ski, walk with my dog, and create in a variety of ways. I enjoy fostering creativity in others. I speak fluent German and enjoy German traditions. I own Arkose Brewery together with my husband in Palmer, Alaska and I am an apprentice beer judge. I am also a certified NIA exercise instructor and I am interested in health and wellness, particularly breast cancer awareness and suvivorship.
I am excited to be able to help support research efforts that help indigenous Arctic people. It reminds me of my own research that I conducted to earn my MA that I fully enjoyed.
