Originally from Portland, Oregon, Becca came to Alaska in September 2012 after finishing school at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois and has been pursuing her passions in uniting cultural and environmental studies. After working in the Pacific Northwest, Tanzania and Illinois, Becca is excited to expand her research experience northward.
Research has been an important part of her education, and working with Alaska native culture is an exciting opportunity for Becca. Her degree is in Anthropology and Sociology, with a focus in paleoanthropology, social theory and environmental studies.
Becca’s hobbies and interests include hiking, camping, reading and drawing. She loves to bake bread, cook, and she thoroughly enjoys the outdoors.
